Warfare that ain't Fair
Idk about y'all but these past couple weeks have been HELL
If it's not one thing, it's another. Work drama, family drama, health issues, church drama, TV drama. You name it, it's happening. To be honest, it's really tiring. But don't give up! It's time to fight.
You're not going to fight this the way you think. This ain't your everyday fight. It's a fixed fight if you do one thing: seek God.
Deuteronomy 4:29 New Living Translation (NLT)
29 But from there you will search again for the Lord your God. And if you search for him with all your heart and soul, you will find him.
Seeking God for real requires you to build a relationship with Him. It allows you to know who He is and what He's capable of. To be honest, I believe that's why the devil attacks you at a few vital times:
- when you first accept Christ
- when you come into the knowledge of who you are
- when you say yes to God
I accepted Christ when I was 18 years old, and literally the next day stuff was getting thrown at me. My mom and I had gotten into it the worse we ever had, my now ex and I broke up for the second time (we would break up 2 more times after that smh), my granddaddy had gotten very sick. It was just a lot. My mom has always been a trigger for me. Nothing and nobody can set me off like my mama. Up to my most recent relationship, that boyfriend was the love of my life no matter who I was with. My granddaddy was like my dad so I took it to heart when he became ill. The devil was literally throwing everything at me, and it was so frustrating.
The thing is your walk with Christ, especially when you first begin walking it's going to be tough. It's not like you get saved and everything suddenly starts going right. It don't work like that. You're like baby, looking around and taking everything in. You seek God, and He's right there, but as you get older in Him, He makes you tough it out. It's preparing you. You have to cry it out sometimes.
But as you mature, you learn how to handle it. The enemy gets upset about that too. The minute you identify yourself for yourself and allow God to be God in your life, that's a game changer. It takes a lot more to change your mind about God at that point so the devil throws everything at you. But you know
Ephesians 6:12 New Living Translation (NLT)
12 For we[a] are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.
And because of that you know
2 Corinthians 10:4-6 King James Version (KJV)
4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
6 And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.
You know that when you fight you fight on your knees. Who you know that can win a fight on their knees? Usually if you're on the floor, you've already loss. But that's why I entitled this warfare ain't fair. When you mature in Christ, you know to call on His name.
James 2:19 New Living Translation (NLT)
19 You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God.[a] Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror.
You know that when you call His name for real, He's coming in a hurry. All you have to do is call on His name, and He shows up like
The enemy thought they had you and then it's like
All you have to do is call on Him. He's never lost a battle
Psalm 24:7-10 King James Version (KJV)
7 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
8 Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.
9 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
10 Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah.
