365 Questions--March 2
What is the most important thing in life?
Having a good relationship with God is literally everything. It's what keeps you, it's what blesses you, and it is your peace. God is your all in all. But the thing is, you will never truly know who God is and experience a fulfilling relationship with Him if you don't know who He is. When I go through bouts of depression, it's remembering what God's word says about me that keeps me. It's not my own doing.
To be honest, when I get down I really question where I stand with God. I really really question if I am truly sensitive to His voice like I think I am. That's why it's so important for me to go to church. I've been at my church for about a year and a half now, and I can count on one hand how many times I've missed church. With me questioning if I'm hearing the right thing, I constantly need confirmation, and I get that every time I go to church. It never fails.
Just in getting older, I can look back and think of times where God tried to show himself to me and I swerved him. There were times where I knew for a fact it was God, and I was like "boy, bye." But now, I'm just so grateful that he didn't play me to the left when I came back. No matter what I did, His word is still true. I recognize now that I am nothing without Him, and He is everything to me.
My treasure, my priority, Who can compare to You;
Great is the measure of Your royalty,
Oh Morning Star, You truly are everything.
