Write Romans 5:8 and add your name. What does that mean to you?
Romans 5:8 New International Version (NIV)
8 But God demonstrates his own love for BRIANA in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for BRIANA.
This is amazing. God loved me even when I did all of those things that I've done, and even when I struggle with sin now, He still loves me. That's awesome. You know, people we write people off so quick. People do us wrong, we wash our hands of them. Thank God, He is not like man. If that was the case, He would've been through with me a long time ago. I can't help but think of the times where I thought my life was over, and He kept me. He knew I was doing wrong and He still kept me. He could've easily said "Well you shouldn't have been out there in the first place." It wasn't like He just saved me life; He sacrificed His own so that I could live...even though I struggle with sin. I can't even begin to imagine the disappointment He feels knowing He died for me, and He's watching me do all these things. He could've said I was unappreciative and that I wasn't even worth it, but He didn't. He didn't give up on me.
Y'all know I'm a little childish, but let me put this in Disney terms real quick. Everybody has seen Hercules, right? I love that movie. The muses were everything Anyway, Meg, the female lead, sold her soul so her boyfriend could live and he ran off with some other woman. That's how we do God when we sin. He gave His life for us and we still keep sinning. Instead of being bitter an jaded, He still loves us. That's special. Unconditional love that can only come from one because God is love.
