365 Questions--August 13
Of the books I read this year, which was my favorite and why?
I would have to say it’s the book I’m currently reading, “Don’t Settle for Safe” by Sarah Jakes Roberts. First of all, I love her. She’s not the preacher that’s so deep and revelated that you can’t even have a conversation with her. I like this book so much because it’s helping me build my standards in my life, specifically when it comes to dating.
I’ve been seriously dating for about 10 years now. To be honest, the guys I’ve dated are all over the place. I’ve dated dope boys, college boys, military men, professionals, blue-collar workers. There was nothing that any of them had in common. I’m the type of woman that will not try to change a man. I can accept a man for who he is right where he is. That’s fine that I can accept them for who they are, but what’s not okay is just accepting them for my life. Not everybody is worthy of being part of my life. Instead of settling for whoever comes along, I have to know what I want.
