Purpose-Given Life

Last week we talked about obedience, and part of obedience is fulfilling your God-given purpose. We all have a purpose. Whether or not we know our purpose is is a different story. Everything God made is good and very good.

1 Timothy 4:4 New King James Version (NKJV)

For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be refused if it is received with thanksgiving;
Part of being good is having purpose. Easter just passed, and honestly it makes me feel like we owe Him that much. He gave his life and then rose for us with all power in His hands. Why wouldn't I want to fulfill HIs purpose for me? There's nothing else I can give. I can't out-sacrifice Him. I don't have that power. Whatever I have to give is pocket change compared to what He gave. There is no way I'll ever be able to compete with that sacrifice. I can't go to the cross and die the way He did and then rise again unless He gave me the power  to do so. It's not like He just did that one thing. He gives us new mercies every morning. He forgives us for all the wrong we've done. I'll forever be in debt to him.
If that means I have to sing until I'm hoarse, then I'll do it. If I got to dance until I feel like I'm about to pass out, I'll do it. If He says "Briana, this is what I have called you to do," I have no choice but to do it. For one, if God says something, it will come to pass.

Isaiah 55:11 King James Version (KJV)

11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

And for 2, I owe Him my life so it's either do what He says or die. I don't know about y'all, but I'm not ready to leave here yet.
Sometimes the part that makes being here on Earth so hard is the fact that we don't know what our purpose is. Discovering your purpose may take a lifetime. For a long time, I wanted to know how people knew their purpose. How does that thought even cross your mind? Then I realized that purpose comes from a relationship with God.
Think of it this way. You ever met someone that was like a professional student? They stayed in college way past those 4 years because they kept changing their major. And by the way, this is no shade to anybody. I promise. But what usually happens is that person has to have a come to Jesus meting within themselves and find out what makes them happy. Same concept. When we get to know God, we'll know what He wants from us.
