365 Questions--March 15

Who is your biggest cheerleader?

I would have to honestly say my daddy. My daddy literally is the one human who makes me feel like everything is going to be alright. He is literally the ram in the bush that God sent me. Whenever I need anything, he'll help me. It doesn't matter if it's bills, school, work, he's always there. I call him.

I can remember when my baby sister had an incident at our school. Some upperclassman made some kind of racist comment towards her, and she told my daddy. I had no idea any of this happened. All I know is that I was getting called out of class to come get my daddy from down the hall. If I need somebody to act up on my behalf, I call him first. I don't call my best friend or my sister or my cousins. I call my daddy.

He exhibits strength and he has instilled that same strength in me. "Don't ever let anybody make you cry." "Keep God first." "Pray on it and see what happens." These are all things my daddy constantly told me growing up. When I first was diagnosed with PCOS, he sent me a box with a letter in it telling me he was so sorry for what happened, and he gave me a prayer box for me to write my prayers in and pray over. That was one of the best gifts I have ever gotten. For one thing, that's not custom in his church, but he knew that was something my church does. He never made me feel bad for leaving the church of Christ. Even though he gives me a hard time sometimes about other things and he teases me, but he seriously doesn't mean any harm.

On another note, I knew I really had to pray about this question because the minute I thought about writing about my daddy, every bad situation we've ever had. We're no different from any family, we go through our ups and downs. But I know he always has my back.

I want my unborn son to be like my daddy
I want my husband to be like my daddy
There is no one else like my daddy
And I thank you for loving me
