A song that calms you down
For the gospel portion, I'm going to have to go with "Oh Jesus" by Kierra Sheard. I recently found this song and fell in love. I'm a worshipper at heart. Singing and dancing comes very naturally for me. That is my therapy when I'm feeling really down. Lately, when I feel really down, which has been more often than not these days, this is my go to song. I don't even have to sing the entire song, just the chorus is enough for the tears to start. Rance Allen really didn't lie, there is something about the name Jesus. There is something just so beautiful with the melody of the song and her voice. It just takes me in. Nowadays this is really the only song that calms me down.
Of course, gospel music was not always as big in my life, but back in like high school, I would have to say either "This Too Shall Pass" or "River Rise." Both of these songs are by India.Arie. Needless to say, she has a very positive vibe and very calming voice.
