A song that breaks your heart
I would have to say that it would be "Good People." If you don't know what this song is, it was on an episode of Empire. Jamal dedicated the song to Andre and Rhonda after Rhonda lost the baby.
Around this time, I had lost my baby as well (that's another story for another day). I couldn't even begin to wrap my heard around what happened. Unfortunately, I'm crying while writing this so I don't really want to talk about it in too much detail. That was an extremely painful experience for me. It really broke my heart because I felt like and I still feel like I didn't deserve to go through that situation. I'm not a bad person. I couldn't understand what I did to warrant something like that. No I was not ready for a child at that time, but I was willing to do anything to provide for my child. It's people out there that are killing children because they don't want to take care of them. They're always putting their children in harm's way. It happens more frequently that you'd think. I was working at the Department of Children and Families at the time. Trust me, I know. Side note, it's interesting to think that you're over something and then when it's brought it up it's like it's still fresh.
For the gospel song, I would have to say "Forever" by James Fortune. That song is absolutely beautiful. For me, the description of the crucifixion is something that always gets me. I don't really have the stomach for it. I'm really squeamish when it comes to blood and body stuff. To think, somebody loves me that much to go through that so that I could live past my sin.
